ACYO Team Launches New St. James Website

October 17, 2018–Sacramento

St. James Armenian Apostolic Church of Sacramento unveiled a new, mobile-friendly website which will serve as a hub for parish and community communication.

“On behalf of St. James Armenian community, we express our gratitude and pride in the great work that ACYO web team has accomplished. We are so blessed with all these young talents,” said Father Yeghishe.

Parishioner David Sahakyan coached the team that has been meeting since the Spring 2018. “They have sacrificed their personal time to help the parish. I couldn’t be more impressed with their skills and work ethic. It has been a joy working with each and everyone of them,” he said.

ACYO Web Team Members include:

Knarik Yegiazaryan, Vrej Davtian, Ani Smbatyan, Narek Divanyan, Haik Divanyan, Elina Grigoryan, Diana Sahakyan, Daniel Saakian and Aren Divanyan

St. James welcomes new ACYO Web Team members aged 14-21 years. Please Email us if interested

Working together young people will:

  • Take on responsibility and expand their understanding of the digital platform.
  • Work as a true team solving problems and understanding user needs.
  • Become familiar with new digital programs and processes.
  • Understand the importance of having a mobile-friendly website in strengthening our Parish communication and improving outreach to the larger Sacramento community.
  • Participate in upcoming improvements in St. James Church 21st Century digital outreach.

St. James ACYO web team of young women and men is diverse and talented. They represent:

  • The finest students from UC Davis, Cal Poly, CSU Sacramento, Sacramento City and Sierra Community Colleges, Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, Mira Loma and Whitney High schools.
  • Academic areas include Pharmaceutics, Engineering, Finance, Business and Real Estate, Criminal Justice and Forensics, Medicine, and more.
  • Accomplished athletes.
  • Creators and performers of Rap music.

Father Yeghishe also extended thanks to friends and devoted members of our community who have contributed their time, energy and financial support for the web project. Special recognition goes to:

  • Suren Divanyan, who built, maintained and financially supported our previous website, which served us well for so many years.
  • Vonnie Madigan, content editor, for helping us understand user needs and editing content.
  • Anaida Stepanian and Peter Yim for their photography talent and time, dedicated to our community.
  • David Sahakyan, web mentor, who shared his valuable expertise and considerable time in nurturing and guiding the team.
